I'm so proud of myself

[personal goal]

---but---

I remembered 60 digits of Pi

3.141592653589793238462643383279502884177129399375105820974944

Sadly, my original goal was 50 for the end of the year
Ha
I laugh in the face of the current record holder:
Chao Lu of China with 67,890 digits
I will beat YOU
and those people who claim ( I'm talking about Akira Haraguchi of Japan ) to memorize 83,431 and then 100,000
I say you're a Liar
Ha!
Ha Ha Ha!

Why thank you!

It did get cut off a bit because of how long it was.

why do you want to remember 60 digits of pi?

Samuel Doten said...

So I can know the almost exact ratio of a circles circumference to it's diameter

AND

so if I ever want to calculate a circle's area or circumference very accurately, I can just use my memory!

So, what do you spend your time at home memorizing pi? that would be so boring!

You know what? I think that all of you who are trying to cut me down are actually just jealous that I have amazing pi memorization skills, and you don't! (Or at least you're not putting the effort into trying)

And Quincy, I do other things besides memorize pi, I do have a life you know!

Besides, it is one of those weird things you need to know if you ever want to go on a quiz game show!

I am sorry I offended you, but I was just expressing my "right" opinion.

History Quotes

We can learn from history how past generations thought and acted, how they responded to the demands of their time and how they solved their problems. We can learn by analogy, not by example, for our circumstances will always be different than theirs were. The main thing history can teach us is that human actions have consequences and that certain choices, once made, cannot be undone. They foreclose the possibility of making other choices and thus they determine future events.
-Gerda Lerner

History, we can confidently assert, is useful in the sense that art and music, poetry and flowers, religion and philosophy are useful. Without it -- as with these -- life would be poorer and meaner; without it we should be denied some of those intellectual and moral experiences which give meaning and richness to life. Surely it is no accident that the study of history has been the solace of many of the noblest minds of every generation.
-Henry Steele Commager

Few will have the greatness to bend history itself; but each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total of all those acts will be written the history of this generation.
-Robert F. Kennedy
